Business robberies, a serious concern in Nkomazi

TONGA – Business robbery has become a serious problem in Nkomazi, and seems to be a red flag that needs urgent attention before it gets out of hand.

A 22-year-old male was reportedly robbed at gunpoint just outside his shop on Tuesday.

According to Tonga SAPS, the victim alleges that the two suspects pointed him with firearms and ordered him to lie down on the ground, and one of them searched him and took keys to his bakkie and an undisclosed amount of cash.

“The suspects locked him inside the shop and drove away with his car.
“We appeal to the community not to be alone when they are closing the shops at work as they are targets when it comes to robberies.

The matter is until under investigation, we call on anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to come forth. They may contact Lieutenant Ceko on 082 937 2570,” said Lieutenant Mzwandile Nyambi of Tonga SAPS.
