Government officials from the provincial treasury in KwaZulu-Natal were also present in the meeting. In 2016 the treasury received a clean audit for the 5th consecutive time.

The department received clean audits since 2011/12 financial year.
It was recognised by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) for their excellent work.
Kholwane welcomed the gesture from SAICA, adding that such recognition will spur the Provincial Treasury to work harder and contribute to improvement clean audits outcomes across the Province.
