The community say they are tired of crime. They want to go with the MEC for community safety, security and liaison, Mr Pat Ngomane, and provincial police commissioner, Lt Gen Mondli Zuma, to the homes where they claim nyaope and other drugs are sold.

According to one resident, crime has increased for the past few months. “The crime rate is high here in Matsulu. We are tired of it. It is no longer safe here, innocent people are killed,” he said.

The spokesperson for community safety, security and liaison, Mr Joseph Mabuza, said Lt Gen Mondli Zuma and Pat Ngomane both arrived to address the the community. “At this stage, we are trying to calm the situation, but the residents are not cooperating,” said Mabuza.
