Chris Mashele, the regional secretary of the South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) said crime-related issues are affecting the community. “We demand the department to upgrade the local police station from a Captain’s rank to that of Colonel. We need more police visibility, we are ready to accompany police to drug hot-spots,” said Mashele.
