Round two at Mbombela Stadium: SuperSport vs Pirates

SuperSport United will host Orlando Pirates in the Telkom Knockout semi-final at the scene of the 6-1 drubbing they dished out on November 1, which is Mbombela Stadium.
The Premier Soccer League has confirmed that the mouthwatering semi-final clash between Matsatsantsa a Pitori and The Buccaneers will take place on November 26 at Mbombela Stadium.
Kick-off will be at 18:00.

Super 2
This will be the second encounter of the season between the two sides. The first time they met at Mbombela, that result brought on the resignation of Orlando Pirates’ head-coach, Muhsin Ertugral. Peruvian’ Augusto Palacious has since stepped in to steer the Sea Robbers’ ship.
Stuart Baxter’s side has reached the semi-final spot after beating both Ajax Cape Town and Tshwane rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns in the penalties. On the other hand, Pirates won both their Telkom Cup matches 2-1 against Golden Arrows and Highlands Park.

The game against Park was Palacious first in charge of The Buccaneers bench.
Three days later, (Tuesday, November 29) Mpumalanga soccer fans will also have an opportunity to watch another topflight soccer match when Matsatsantsa host Bidvest Wits in an ABSA Premiership encounter at Mbombela Stadium.

Kick-off will be at 19:30.

Both sides seem to enjoy playing at Mbombela as in their previous matches they beat their opponents with an avalanche of goals.
The Students beat Mamelodi Sundowns 3-0 to lift the MTN Top 8 Cup earlier last month while Matsatsantsa beat Pirates 6-1 in a league encounter earlier this month at Mbombela.
Mthuthuzeli Qamba of Mbombela Stadium management urged the local fans to come in numbers to support the two high profiled games.
“As Mpumalanga soccer supporters, we are lucky to have two category-A games in a space of less than four days. These are two high profiled games not to be missed,” said Qamba.
He said tickets for the Telkom semi-final are available at TicketPro while those for the league encounter are available at Computicket.
Meanwhile, Mpumalanga fans might have an opportunity of watching their very own provincial born player in action when Wits visits United on Tuesday, November 29.
Bongani Mbuli (20) from Ermelo has signed a two-year contract with The Students recently.

Ke Yona 1
The Ermelo-born player was part of the Nedbank Ke Yona team that lost 1-0 to Supersport United at Sinaba Stadium in Daveyton in September. He was not just a player, but he also captained the team. Despite losing to Matsatsantsa on that day, Mbuli was also voted as man of the match and pocketed R10 000 in cash.
He was previously on the books of Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League campaigning side, Lumoja FC.
“I’m excited to have signed with a big team, Wits. It has been my dream to turn professional and now that that I have achieved it, I need to be patient and learn so when I’m given an opportunity, I grab it with both hands,” said Mbuli.
