Through the grapevine

So the SOPA came and went and oh boy, fabulous people were present. But, we cannot all be perfect, can we?

Just so you know, Mpumalanga News was there! The red carpet was as interesting as watching paint dry. We discovered that most people do not really know what a red carpet is for, especially abo Baba. Most of them walked next to it. Like really?

Nonetheless, let us tell you what went down, as well as the yeas and nays. Besides the drama caused by EFF members, others looked ravishing and slayed the entire morning. The following people stood out
• Thandi Shongwe – a huge thumbs up to your stylist or whoever helps you choose your outfits. We absolutely loved your dress, once again, this year.
Keep it up!
• Pholoso Mbatsane – you did it wena provincial secretary! Alles was on point, not forgetting Desmond Moela and his mischievous smile.
• Gillion Mashego – as always, you looked proper and especially fresh in your suit that matched madam’s dress.
Good effort.
• Refilwe Msweni – we felt your presence, and the way you strut in heels is elegant and sophisticated.
• Oh, you walked in with Sesakani Manzini konje, some of us could not recognise her. Nice one ladies.

Yes, there were many others who know what the SOPA entails and that it is a public event where snaps will be taken of anyone.
Nomvula Mashinini is a pro and never has issues when it comes to taking pictures. So ke, it is funny when you walk on the red carpet sulking, for what asazi. Rather stay home mos.

Ey, a certain lady rocked up in jeans and a striped jacket. Oh, her name is Anthea Mthunywa, she’s a councillor from Barberton. Sisi, next time try and dress for the occasion and get the correct shoe size. Phela the red carpet came to a standstill when your kwayi kwayi escaped from your foot. We laughed because your friends laughed too.

Lastly, why is the media treated like this every year mara? Why invite them if they are going to be told to wait under a tent or stand behind a fence like monkeys at a zoo? Remember they are the heart of the community. Respect is key.
May the force be with you!
