#FlashBackFriday: A wave of political stories on social media

This week seemed as though everything that trended was political related. Twitter had unrest concerning certain issues and it was evident that users left no stone unturned!

1. The #AntiZumaMarch dominated social media the whole week following the reshuffling of the cabinet. Some took jabs at the president, some turned it into a joke, as usual. However, it was good to see that citizens of this country are concerned.

2. South Africa was proud to know that the new blockbuster biopic Kalushi walked away with Best Film Award at Luxor African Film Festival in Egypt. Next week the movie will be screened at the New York African Film Festival which will be hosted at the Lincoln Centre. Amandla!

3. Three ANC MPs resigned following the reshuffling. Former minister Dipuo Peters, former deputy minister of Finance Mcebisi Jonas and former Energy Minister Tina Joemat-Petterson, shook the nation when they announced their resignation. It is safe to say that the ANC has trended for the wrong reasons this whole week.

4. #GwedeMantashe also trended and it was said that he does not have a back bone. Julius Malema threw shade at the secretary following his apology to the president. It was probably embarrassing to apologise after making blistering statement in public. What a shame!
