#FlashBackFriday: This week was rather serious

This week we could say it was dominated by serious news. It was not as dramatic compared to other weeks. It was a bit serious and that seems boring but let us flash back anyway.

1. The World Economic Forum on Africa #WEFAFRICA was held in Durban day on Wednesday to discuss Africa’s progress in the global sphere. Finance minister, Malusi Gigaba tried to convince the international community that the country remains a strong investment destination. Whether he convinced them enough or not we will just have to see.

2. Yesterday #Whatsapp trended it was reported that on Wednesday night it was not functioning worldwide because of a technical problem. It seemed as though South Africa was not affected and social media was at peace. Oh well it is what it is.

3. Orlando Pirates again trended for the wrong reasons following their loss 1-0 to against Bidvest Wits yesterday. The Buccaneers have had a pathetic run in this season’s Absa Premiership. It does not look like things are getting better because they only won five games out 25, it’s a shame.

4. #ZumaDA The DA was the first political party to rush to social media about their victory to have President Zuma provide the records and reasons for his cabinet reshuffle. Are we not over the reshuffle? This causes unnecessary tension in the country.
