The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) recently raised awareness on opportunities available in this sector for the youth.

This was during the tourism month build up event held at Maviljan sportsground in Bushbuckridge.

The day was also an eye opener to the youth as they learned more on tourism businesses and career opportunities in the sector.

More opportunities were said to be advertised in national newspapers in August and more information is available on www.tourism.gov.za.

The minister of Tourism in South Africa Ms Thokozile Xasa will launch the national tourism month on July 26 at Dullstroom.

“The actual tourism month celebration will be held in Mbombela on September 27, under the theme ‘Sustainable Tourism as a tool for development. The exact venue will be communicated closer to the date,” adds Ms Kholofelo Nkambule, MTPA’s spokesperson
