#FlashBackFriday: Let the weekend begin with a throw back

A lot was said this week on social media about the country’s social issues, prominent figures and a lot more. Let’s check out what trended this week.

#BonangTurns30 Media personality Bonang Matheba, popularly known as ‘Queen B’ trended on twitter after hosting her birthday party with her fans wishing her a happy birthday and some giving a piece of their minds. The who’s who in the entertainment industry attended the glitzy party and, of course, AKA the Super Mega was Mr Party!

Here’s what some tweeps had to say:

#ZuluKing Zulu King Goodwill-Zwelithini trended for the wrong reasons after it was that he was pampered with R1.7-million worth of government-owned houses for free – just so that his royal guests will not have to book into hotels. It is evident that being a King possesses many powers.

Oh well, no one was keen to tweet about the story.

#CashInTransit It only takes a few seconds for cash-in-transit security guards to be robbed of a bag carrying cash. A Facebook video that made the rounds after the robbery was captured on a CCTV camera. The video still reminds us as citizens of how unsafe our country has become and still continues to be.

#MabalaNoise Last but not least, Mabala Noise dismissed their media liaison officer Mhlo Gumede after he was guilty of embezzling and extorting money from the label’s emerging artists. According to the label’s manager Sikhulile Nzuza, all the evidence gathered traced back to Mhlo. Another controversial story from Mabala Noise, we waiting for the one.

Pictured is Mhlo Gumede. Nothing much was said about him either.
