ON THIS DAY: Four years since Nelson Mandela died

The late Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.

Described as the greatest icon of transformational leadership by many, the late Nelson Mandela’s legacy lives on as the world continues to pay tribute to him.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation will host an event in Johannesburg today marking the 4th anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s passing. The keynote address will be delivered by General Bantu Holomisa and the first Nelson Mandela Centenary project – the Unthreading Mandela exhibition will be unveiled.

Other speakers will include Professor Njabulo Ndebele – Chairperson of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, Sello Hatang – Chief Executive of the Nelson Mandela Foundation and  Minister Jeff Radebe – Chairperson of the Government’s Inter-Ministerial Committee on Nelson Mandela’s Centenary.

Mandela died after after battling a recurring lung infection.
