Organisers of the annual Bhuga Diski tournament, which was launched over the weekend, promised a bigger and better third tourney for soccer lovers around Bhuga, KaBokweni and surrounding areas this festive season.
“Our aim is to keep the youth away from drugs and alcohol abuse by keeping them occupied this festive season. Our long-term goal is to produce players that will represent the province in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and have players in the national squad as well,” explained Vuyani Nyundu, director of the tourney.
“We have invited PSL scouts and big names of the football industry like Ronny Zondi, a former Orlando Pirates player, and Lovers Mohlala of Sundowns, who have already confirmed to be part of the tourney,” he added.
This year’s event also includes the introduction of two divisions – u/15 and u/13.
Nyundu promised prizes galore and entertainment by popular Kaizer Chiefs fan, Saddam Maake, and other local artists. He invited stakeholders to come on board in making the tournament a memorable one.
