Mpumalanga police are looking for an unknown man who raped a pregnant woman in the bushes near the Spioenkop road outside White River.

The incident happened on January 8 when the woman, together with her five-year-old child hiked a white Toyota Tazz with two occupants driving towards White River.

The three-month pregnant mother was on her way to the local clinic.

Police allege that along the way, she was pointed at with a firearm and ordered not to scream while the suspects drove with her into the bushes.

“One of the men forcefully raped her at knife point. Further information revealed that during the process, the woman managed to bite the man’s private parts. Both suspects fled the scene in their car, leaving the victims behind,” said Brig Leonard Hlathi.

No arrests made so far. Anyone with information which could lead to the arrest of the suspects may contact Const Solly Mabuza on 082 730 7590 or call Crime Stop number 08600 10111.
