MPUMALANGA – Two Hawks members appeared at the Nelspruit Regional Court for corruption today. Petrus Doctor Nkosi and his relative Tshepo Mabizela were charged for money laundering and Richard Nkwanyane for theft and defeating the end of justice.

Nkosi was a Warrant Officer attached to the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation Unit and Nkwanyane a Serious Corruption Investigation Unit Commander.

According to the Hawks, Nkosi instructed Mabizela to withdraw money after they robbed a bank in Hazyview in December 2015. Mabizela was released on R1 000 bail. Nkwanyane was arrested in October 2017 after he booked out money from the police station for his investigation but the money was never returned back. An additional charge of theft was also added and was released on R5000 bail.

“Nkosi’s case was transferred to Ermelo Regional Court and postponed to June 27 for further investigation. The reason for the transfer is that other criminal activities took place there. Nkwanyane’s case was postponed also to August 23,” said the Hawks.
