Alleged bogus doctor arrested on duty

Kano Mireille Mumina (38), an alleged bogus medic has appeared before the Witbank Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday after she was arrested at a medical facility in Witbank where she was found practising.

Mumina failed to produce her practising card and her details were also missing from the HPCSA registers. She was then arrested on the spot and charged for fraud and contravening section 17(1) of the Health Professional Act 56/1974.

A batch of files were seized for further analysis to assist ongoing investigation. The case has been postponed to 12 October 2018 pending further investigation, meanwhile Mumina has been granted R1000 bail.
