Sponsors for the annual McDonalds, Copa Coca-Cola and Danone Nations cups have announced the opening of the registration for schools to participate in this year’s competitions.
The champions will walk away with R10 000, a soccer kit, gold medals and a trophy.
The games will be staged in Johannesburg from December 10 to 14
Boys and girls competed in the under-13, 15 and 17
The first time they met at Mbombela, that result brought on the resignation of Orlando Pirates’ head-coach, Muhsin Ertugral.
The tournament has already seen multiple top local stars such as Andile Jali, Happy Jele, Mandla Masango
Bondzeni received R100 000 for their efforts which will go towards the improvements at the school.
This comes after they knocked out Mbangwane 3-2 which saw them pipping Lowveld High 1-0 during the games that were played at Ntsikazi Stadium the past weekend.
Kanyamazane Stadium was full of activities over the past weekend. The day began with the God’s Chosen School tournament prize giving which was then followed by ABC Motsepe league games. The game ended with two goals to zero in favour of Mlambo Royal Cubs against God’s Chosen FC.
Mpumalanga schools qualified for the Spur Schools MTB League National Finals recently hosted at Bekker School in Magaliesburg.
The return of the tournament that has the inclusion of rugby and this move has since been welcomed by both local teams and the entire community.
